Dog Training Props

For beginners, it is advised you use a leash and a collar for your dog when you are training him for the first couple of sessions. You might as well use some Frisbee, ball, or any lightweight material that you may toss so as to instruct a dog for a particular command.

You may actually divide dog training props into three: disciplining props, playing props, and rewarding props. You will be using disciplining props for commanding a dog. As much as possible, use it as minimal as possible. Never use harsh gestures or angry tone to your dog when you are trying to train him. This will scare him away. Remember that negative actions are more remembered by dogs.

Playing props are the ones that I mentioned like Frisbee or ball. This will take his attention to you, but as long as you have it in control, you will always have his head to you. And lastly, reward props which should not be used too often. Do not train your dog to have a food reward every now and then or else you will not get his attention when you don’t have something for him in hand. A simple pet or tap in the head with happy-toned voice will do. Dogs thrive with attention; a simple pet will do to reward them.
